Summer Camp Volunteer Positions

  • Officer of the Day
    • This Officer will be high energy, capable to organize and able to take charge! They will ensure that all activities are run on time and properly. They will organize and run evening activities. As well as help to ensure all rules and regulations are followed. This person will be high energy, capable to organize and able to take charge!   • Administration Officer
    • This Officer is highly organized and is willing to spend long hours before and during camp to ensure all paper work is complete.
  • Medical Officer
    • This Officer will administer daily medication to cadets as well as first aid as needed. Will administer daily medication to cadets as well as first aid as needed.
  • Cooks
    • Approximately three (3) cooks will be required
    • In charge of preparing 3 meals a day and 2 snacks. One cook must have safe food handling certificates.
  • Dish Washers
    • This is an optional job
    • Approximately two (2) Dish Washers
    • Help the cooks by cleaning around the galley as well as supervise the duty division as they wash dishes and clean the galley.
  • Boats Officer
    • This Officer is in charge of all water activities to ensure no accidents happen In charge of all water activities to ensure no accidents happen.
  • Water Front Operations Officers
    • They are in charge of organization of the water front. That there are enough safety boats out and that there is enough supervision on the beach.
  • Safety Boat Officers
    • Approximately three to four (3-4) officers will be required
    • In charge of running the safety boat for both the canoe and sailing classes.
    • Must have a valid PCOC card in order to run power boat.
  • Sail Officers
    • Approximately two (2) officers will be required.
    • To conduct sailing classes to the divisions daily.
  • Overnight Officer / Canoe Officer
    • Approximately three (3) officers will be required.
    • Minimum 1 male and 1 female will be required.
    • Will be taking divisions out to teach the basics of canoeing and camping
  • Range Officer
    • To ensure safety of the range and teach cadets how to fire an air riffle properly To ensure safety of the range and teach cadets how to fire an air riffle properly.
  • Archery Officer
    • To ensure safety on the range and to teach cadets how to use a bow and arrow To ensure safety on the range and to teach cadets how to use a bow and arrow.
  • Divisional Officers
    • Minimum six (6) officers required
    • Ideally twelve (12) officers for smooth operation
    • An adult that is at camp for the cadets! This Officer will be organized, patient, Low tempered and capable of supervising less than 15 cadets throughout the day. You are in charge of the health and well being of your division! You are to ensure the division gets to all classes on time and prepared.
  • Night Watch
    • Minimum two (2) volunteers required
    • Minimum 1 male and 1 female will be required.
    • In charge of the safety and well being of camp during the night. You are to stay up all night and do rounds to make sure there are no incidents. You will also be tasked with night time baking for the cooks.
